An integral part of the festival, the VIVA! Kitchen allows an artist to develop a relational artwork that unfolds daily around the sharing of a communal meal. These performative dinners are part of every evening program, and contribute greatly to the convivial and festive atmosphere that characterizes the festival. 

This year, the residency hosts Diyar Mayil, a Kurdish/Quebecoise artist who will explore the act of giving through gestures and recipes that are as delicious as they are unique. Prepared with the support of her team, the meals are sold for a voluntary contribution ($10 suggested), but the public can attend the performance without buying a meal.
